About Walk for 1 in 100
Join us as we walk for the 1 in 100 children and adults thriving with congenital heart disease (CHD) across the country. The Adult Congenital Heart Association is the only national nonprofit organization devoted to supporting the full lifespan of the millions of people impacted by CHD.
Our events were created to empower all of those who were born with a heart defect, their loved ones and the medical community that cares for them. We’re here to empower adults to take an active role in their cardiac care, to educate parents on the lifelong specialized care their young son or daughter will need, and to support young adults through the transition to adult CHD care. We are here for the person with a newly diagnosed heart defect, as well as the patient who’s seen it all, and everything in between.
About the Adult Congenital Heart Association
The mission of the Adult Congenital Heart Association is to improve and extend the lives of the millions born with heart defects through education, advocacy and research.
Founded in 1998, the Adult Congenital Heart Association is an organization begun by and dedicated to supporting individuals and families living with congenital heart disease and advancing the care and treatment available to our community.
We do this through a wide and growing range of programs, services and activities. These include our National and Regional Conferences, accreditation program, educational materials, website, outreach and advocacy efforts, research program, and events to raise money and increase awareness.
We are committed to promoting excellence for every adult CHD patient by increasing access to the highest level of care and developing standards to allow patients and families to identify physicians and facilities providing that care.
ACHA thanks the patients, family members, health professionals and researchers who commit their time, resources, skills and efforts to our cause. We especially acknowledge the contributions of our Board of Directors and Medical Advisory Board.
