#TeamGeorgia
Thank you for visiting our team page! Congenital birth defects affect 1 in 100 babies born each year. CHD research is severely underfunded and every dollar you can donate will help someone, somewhere. We continue to walk in honor of ALL of the heart warriors worldwide. It is the #1 birth defect and there is currently no cure or cause.
Our sweet Georgia was born with a congenital heart defect called an ASD (Atrial Septal Defect). This is commonly known as a hole in the heart. Georgia had a very large hole in her heart. It enabled blood flow between the two atriums of the heart, which should be separated. Georgia began going into heart failure and had to have open heart surgery to correct the large hole. We found out when she was 6 months old. Georgia had open heart surgery on 9/6/16 when she had just turned one year old.
Please consider making a tax deductible contribution to support my fundraising efforts for the Adult Congenital Heart Association, which supports children and adults. All funds raised benefit CHD research and programs. We appreciate your support! We would love to have anyone come walk with us in honor of our Heart Warrior Georgia on 10/30/21 that can come!
Thank you.
