Check out my Why!
Thank you for visiting my Walk for 1 in 100 personal fundraising page! It means more to me than you know! You see, my cousin Amy is the 1 in 100 affected by CHD and I am proud and honored to support her. We grew up together a mere three weeks apart in age but I didn't really understand the affects CHD not only had on her but also her family. The multiple surgeries she has endured (amongst other things) and the emotional toll it must have taken and I’m sure continues to take today on her and immediate family is something I hope to never have to fully understand.
Although Amy has been through more than most of us could imagine, she has never let her CHD define her or limit her from being the person she is.… an amazingly loving and caring, resilient, odds defining, fighter. For that, I’m inspired! As an adult with the ability to reflect and understand a little more of what she has gone and goes through today, I wanted to do my tiny part in helping advance CHD research.
With Amy’s help, (inspired by her actions) I got involved and was asked to join the walk committee here in Phoenix. It has been wonderful getting to know everyone and I feel blessed to have been welcomed into the community with open arms.
Although we are no longer in the same state and don’t get to see each other often, I’m pretty lucky to have the relationship I do with a truly amazing woman. Love you Amo!
With that being said, please consider making a tax deductible contribution to support my fundraising efforts on behalf of the Adult Congenital Heart Association. No donation is too small and all funds raised benefit CHD research and programs.
If you're in the Phoenix area on Nov. 3rd please come and walk with us! Amy is making a special trip from Ohio to be here for the big event and I couldn’t be more excited about it! Tempe Diablo Stadium, 2200 W Alameda Dr. Tempe AZ 85282. Registration opens at 9:00 a.m. and the walk kicks off at 10:00.
I appreciate you all!
