Team Victory Victoria
Some know me & my story, some don't. For those who don't, I'll give a quick run down. I was born with Congenital Heart Defects the main one being Tricuspid Atresia. The right side of the heart can't pump enough blood to the lungs because my tricuspid valve is missing.
I’ve had two surgeries and several heart catherizations throughout my life and recently added an ablation to my list of cardiac procedures. My fist surgery was when I was one month old (a palliative surgery to help get me to open heart surgery). I had open heart surgery a few weeks after my 6th birthday (1989).
Having CHD is life long and comes with risk factors and new complications as we grow. As an adult I’m still seeing complications from my CHDs, including pulmonary hypertension, liver disease and arrhythmias. This all sounds like a lot but I am actually one of the fortunate ones because I am still here fighting.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this & for your support!!
